I’ve been getting quite a few complaints about the server lag ever since I updated to minecraft 1.8. Since people are instantly keen to blaming my server hardware/network for this, let me clarify a few things.

1) My network is still healthy and the 100mbit speed test verified that. The CPU usage is about 24% for the server and it’s using about 1.8gb of ram (which is considerably more then what 1.7.3 used x.x)

2) Many other servers are experiencing this. I had the same, exact lag on other servers 10x more powerful then mine.

3) Minecraft 1.8 pre-release is laggy. It’s a PRE-release for a reason meaning it hasn’t passed the QA phase of release entirely. This is just another bug that needs to be sorted out.

4) I’ve looked and there’s no known fix for this yet. Guess you guys will have to wait until 1.8 comes out officially for the bugs to be fixed.

Due to popular request, I updated the public server to minecraft version 1.8 pre-release.
There is also a brand, fresh new map on the server to test out the new seeds and maps HOWEVER I still have the previous map WHICH WILL be AVAILIABLE ONCE 1.8 is officially released.

If you noticed the terraria server hasn’t EXACTLY been reliable. Reliable as in I have to restart it every 2 hours. So for now, the terraria server is being removed because honestly, the server that it’s running on is the absolute worst server I have EVER dealt with. I’m better off renting a terraria server from another provider.

Sorry about that guys, I know some of you were complaining about that.

IN OTHER NEWS, I am pondering whether or not to acquire a garrys mod server. It seems to hate running on my dedicated server (actually it hates linux in general) so I’d probably have to outsource it outside my server cluster.

Well, we now have a public terraria and minecraft server up. Everyone is welcome to play on both of these. The terraria server MAY have map resets or be just a building server, this is still debated. Due to the cheap hardware that terraria server is running on, it can only handle a medium world but it should be relatively fast enough to handle up to 8-10 clients at once.

Minecraft Server:
